There are few things as satisfying in the world of GIS as an eye-pleasing map that effectively communicates complex geographic phenomena in an easy-to-understand manner.  In my experience, maps have been a constant element of the way I communicate and how I see the world. While print maps remain a standard for the delivery of the results of GIS analysis, digital tools and infographics that add functionality to the classic map are increasingly important.
